MRR111 Moisture Resistant Repair

DESCRIPTION 

PrepWorx MRR111 is a moisture-tolerant, fast-setting, low-slump patching and repair compound designed for use at any depth. This high-strength, Portland cement-based formula dries quickly, sand easily, making it ideal for preparing surfaces for most floor coverings, including wood products. Engineered to withstand heavy wear, it is perfect for filling holes, repairing cracks, and making general surface repairs on concrete substrates. It is also recommended for smoothing and repairing concrete stairs and creating ramp transitions. 

APPROVED SUBSTRATES

SUBSTRATE TESTING 

• No moisture testing requirements. 

• Refer to substrate moisture limits per flooring installation requirements. 

• Ensure that concrete is dry before application, provided the site is absent of hydrostatic pressure. 

• If RH exceeds acceptable levels, apply a moisture control system like PrepWorx MCS310 or PrepWorx VBS311. 

• This product may be installed over concrete with relative humidity (RH) levels up to 100%, with absent of hydrostatic pressure.  

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION 

• Substrates must be structurally sound, clean, and surface dry. 

• Substrate must be free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, paint, curing agents, concrete sealers, loosely bonded toppings, loose particles and any other substance or condition that may prevent or reduce adhesion. 

• Any weakly bonded or soft surface material, such as loose patching compounds, leveling compounds, floor coverings, or coatings, must be removed. 

• Do not use sweeping compounds.

• ​Do not apply this product (over) chemically abated adhesive surfaces.     

• ​All substrates must be primed with PrepWorx VBC301 prior to application. 

Concrete Substrate: 

• Concrete and cementitious substrates must be fully cured and free of hydrostatic pressure and topical moisture.  

• Clean surfaces using mechanical methods and avoid using acid etching or sanding, which will not provide adequate bonding preparation.   

• For dormant cracks wider than 1/32” (0.8 mm), PrepWorx CJR400 may be used to repair. 

• It is recommended to fill dormant cracks and saw cuts deeper that 1”, using PrepWorx MRR111. 

• Ensure all moving joints, including expansion and isolation joints, as well as moving cracks, are properly addressed and accounted for throughout the entire flooring system, including the finish layer. No flooring material should be installed over these areas. 

• If no moisture control system is needed, prime the clean surface with PrepWorx VBC301. 

Wood Substrate: 

• Wood substrates must provide a rigid base and be securely fastened without excessive vertical movement. The surface of the wood must be clean and free of oils, grease, wax, dirt, varnish, shellac, and any contaminates that would impair adhesion. If necessary, sand down to bare wood. Do not apply totalworx products directly to fire-retardant or pressure-treated wood surfaces. 

• ​Prime wood surface with PrepWorx VBC301. 

WARNING:  DO NOT SAND, DRY SWEEP, DRY SCRAPE, DRILL, SAW, BEAD BLAST OR MECHANICALLY CHIP OR PULVERISE EXISTING RESILIENT FLOORING, BACKING, LINING FELT, ASPHALTIC “CUTBACK” ADHESIVES OR OTHER ADHESIVES. These products may contain either asbestos fibers and/or crystalline silica.  Avoid creating dust. Inhalation of such dust is a cancer and respiratory tract hazard. Smoking by individuals exposed to asbestos fibers greatly increases the risk of serious bodily harm. Unless positively certain that the product is a non‐ asbestos‐containing material, you must presume it contains asbestos. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND COVERAGE RATES 

Read and follow the product specific installation guidelines for layout, design and any special instructions for installation. 

PrepWorx MRR111 requires the floor surface to be primed with PrepWorx VBC301 primer before application. 

• Installation site must be acclimated with HVAC in operation, or the temperature must be controlled between 60-77 °F (16-25 °C) and the ambient relative humidity controlled below 65% before, during and for 72 hours after the installation. 

• Do not use over water-soluble adhesive residues or substrates containing asbestos. 

• Do not use over existing building expansion or control joints 

Mixing 

• Pour 2-3 quarts (2-2.8 liters) of cold, clean water per bag of MRR111 into a clean container. 

• Slowly pour in the powder and mix vigorously for 1 minute per bag until blended to a viscous, lump-free consistency. Use a heavy-duty drill with an Oval mixing paddle (minimum 300-450 rpm). 

• Do not over water the mixture, as additional water weakens the material. 

Application 

• Pour the mix onto the primed substrate. Working time is approx. 15-30 minutes. 

• Coverage rate at 1/4" (6 mm) depth approx. 11.25sq. Ft. Per 20  lb. bag featured below in coverage

• Distribute product using a flat trowel. 

• Product is dry to accept foot traffic after 45 min. (depths < 3/8”). 

• Ready for the installation of floor coverings after approximately 1 hour for (depths < 3/8"). Depth of application, ambient conditions, and surface porosity will affect dry time. 

Coverage Rates 

• Coverage rates are approximate values. Actual coverages may vary according to substrate conditions and thickness of the application.

• 11.25 sq. ft. at 1/4" (1.04 m² at 6 mm)  

• 7.5 sq. ft. at 3/8" (0.69 m² at 9 mm) 

• 5.62 sq. ft. at 1/2" (0.52 m² at 12 mm)  

• 2.81 sq. ft. at 1" (0.26 m² at 25 mm)

WARRANTY
